The framework marks the appointment of a strengthened supply chain to support the continued development of DfT’s national transport strategy, assuring the fair planning, procurement and delivery of the UK’s major rail infrastructure schemes.

As part of a 4-year, circa £100m programme, Gleeds has been appointed under Lot 1, Category C for ‘Commercial Advice for Transport Forecasting Advice’. Gleeds’ commercial advisory services will comprise assurance work and regulatory reviews, including estimations, procurement, pre and post contract advice on projects.

Mark Syrett, Director, Gleeds, said: “With the backing of a robust supplier community, the STAR2 framework will support the Government pledge to invest £48 billion in England and Wales’ rail network up to 2024. We have been advising the Department of Transport since 2015 and look forward to continuing to provide commercial advice under this new framework, helping to shape the development of a sustainable transport system for the UK.”
