Spain and France fundraise using one of their most well-loved commodities: food!

Gleeds staff in the Western Europe have managed to raise £4,000 for Aldeas Infantiles SOS (SOS Children's Villages) and Action Contre la Faim (Action Against Hunger) in support of the company’s fundraising initiative: the Gleeds Global Challenge.

Food is one of the most appreciated and well-loved products in France and Spain, which is why Gleeds staff in both countries decided to organise a raffle and a quiz night with delicious food prizes to fundraise for the organisation’s ‘Global Challenge’ to raise £130,000 across its 56 international offices, in celebration of 130 years in business.

Spain organised a raffle for one of the country’s most-favoured cuisine: a leg of Iberian ham. All staff in the Madrid office - over 50 people - managed to sell a total of 877 tickets among clients, family, friends, and neighbours. In doing so, the Spanish team quadrupled their target and ended up with €4,385 (£3,225) to support Aldeas Infantiles SOS, an international charity that works to meet the needs and protect the rights of disadvantaged children around the world.

France on the other hand, is half way through their fundraising! So far they have organised a quiz night which took place on Monday 21st September with traditional French food prizes, through which they managed to raise over €1,000 (£735). Not quite satisfied with that, Gleeds France is now organising a tombola night on Thursday 22nd October, hosting over 200 guests to fundraise and celebrate the business’ 35th anniversary in France. With these events, France hopes to raise a total of €5,000 for Action Contre la Faim, an international organisation that provides communities all over the world with access to safe water and sustainable solutions to food shortage.
