Gleeds has officially been named as one of the 2023 UK’s Best Workplaces in Consulting and Professional Services list by Great Place to Work, the global authority on workplace culture.

Only those businesses who achieve the highest scores after evaluation receive Best Workplaces™ status and Gleeds’ commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and wellbeing were highlighted as reasons why the company has been named among the 22 organisations picked in the Large and Super-Large category.  150 consulting and professional businesses applied to be listed.

The Best Workplaces in Consulting and Professional Services™ list is created using the anonymous feedback from employees working in the industry about their workplace experience. These insights are used to benchmark the effectiveness of companies' employee value propositions against the culture their employees actually experience.

Over 90% of Gleeds employees agreed that the business is committed to treating everyone fairly, inclusively, and respectfully, with 87% feeling they can be themselves at work, and four out of five considering Gleeds a truly Great Place to Work.  Gleeds was also recently shortlisted for Building Awards ‘Employer of the Year’ 2023.

Gleeds’ CEO Graham Harle said, “Our people are our most important asset and we inspire them with opportunities to see the world, work on the world’s biggest projects, while giving them genuine space to prioritise wellbeing, leverage flexible working and progression.  Their dedication and commitment have made us a standout performer in our industry.  This is our fourth recognition from Great Place to Work since becoming accredited in November 2022 – we were also named in Best Workplaces for Wellbeing, Best Workplaces for Women and Best Workplaces UK.

“We are a 138-year-old independent business and we always have to ask: how do we stay fresh and relevant?  This is a fantastic moment to recognise what we have always done – and continue to do - well.

“As the global authority on workplace culture, our mission at Great Place to Work has always been to build a better world by helping organisations become a great place to work for all. We strongly believe in the notion of ‘better for business, better for people, better for the world,” said Benedict Gautrey, Managing Director of Great Place to Work UK.

“Best Workplaces consistently put people first – not just in terms of looking out for their own employees but also by caring for and supporting their surrounding community and environment. We’re incredibly proud to recognise the very best ‘For All’ organisations committed to equity and unfaltering in ensuring that all employees are empowered to deliver the right strategic solutions to ever-changing business opportunities and challenges,” he concluded.
